MIAMI, FL (October 6, 2022) – Intradeco Apparel continues to make strides toward becoming an industry leader in sustainable manufacturing as one of the recipients at the Fifth Annual REPREVE® Champions of Sustainability Awards. The company was honored with the 231 million Bottles achievement, which recognizes a commitment to environmental excellence and the diversion of plastic bottles from landfills and oceans. Since partnering with Unifi, makers of REPREVE® recycled performance fibers, Intradeco has saved the equivalent of 6 million Kg of CO2 emissions, 5.2 million gallons of water, and one year’s worth of power to 200,000 homes. This milestone illustrates the company’s clean and lean approach to bringing quality garments to market.
Along with Intradeco, over 90 Unifi global brands, retail, and textile partners were also recognized. Fellow honorees included Target, Nike, and Walmart. Intradeco Apparel was among the 53 textile partners recognized for having transformed 50 million or more recycled plastic bottles through the use of REPREVE® performance fibers.
